Behind the Scenes Tour

Instructors and group coordinators are free, up to two per group

The Behind the Scenes Tour gives you a sneak peek into the inner workings of the Museum. The tour begins with a brief overview of the modern architecture of the building, tying it to Greek philosophy and ideals; next, your group will receive a guided tour of the Museum’s Greek American exhibition, “Reaching for the American Dream”; then, your group will listen to samples of Oral Histories in our collection and explore the library; finally, your tour concludes with a mini tour of the Museum’s collection room, where the majority of the Museum’s collection is stored. All Access Tour

Tour length: 1 hour
Capacity: 90 Adults
Cost: Adults $7, Seniors and University students $6
Instructors and group coordinators are free, up to two per group

The All Access Tour provides three mini 20-minute tours of each of the main exhibitions in the museum. Depending on the weather, your tour concludes with a trip to the museum’s rooftop overlooking the “Old Greek Town” and the Chicago skyline. Book now!

 

Mini Tour

Tour length: 25 minutes
Capacity: 35 Adults
Cost: Adults $6, Seniors and University students $5
Instructors and group coordinators are free, up to two per group

In a rush or enjoy self-exploration? Then, the Mini Tour may be a good fit for your group. The Mini Tour is one 20-minute tour of an exhibition of your choice. Your group may continue exploring the Museum independently after the tour. Book now.

 

Group Rates/Self Guided Tour

Cost: Adults $6, Seniors and University students $5
Instructors and group coordinators are free, up to two per group

Group rates are available without scheduling a guided tour. When your group arrives, you will receive a 5 minute overview of the Museum by a docent, then you are free to explore the Museum independently. Book now.

 

School Groups

We also offer tours for students in grades Pre-K–12 that includes lesson plans based on Illinois core curriculum standards. For more information on programs for children, visit our school programs page.

 

Sunday Tour

Cost: Free with Museum admission

Brief overviews of all the exhibitions are available on Sundays at 1pm. No RSVP is required.

 

Off Site Adult Programs

Choose from two presentations for your group outside the Museum. Book now.
Analyzing and Discussing Artifacts: Participants will be taken on an adventure to Ancient Greece to discuss the ancient civilization and learn how various artifacts come to life to tell us how the Ancient Greeks lived.

The Modern Narrative of Greek Immigration: Follow the modern narrative of the Greek American experience. A lecture and discussion will be based on the narratives of Greek immigrants and how they learned and adapted to create a Greek American identity.
